Introduction to Morphs Menu System (MenuFX)
Which suffix to add depends on the menu type you want to use. For example, if you wanted to activate the Topfish menu, you would simply add a module suffix of "topfish" and Morph will do the rest. This is a quick overview on how to take advantage of the various menu options we have built into Morph.
Top menu options:
The top menu must be assigned to the "user3" module position. Once it is assigned to user3, you can then control exactly where the menu shows within Configurator.
The menu can be assigned before or after a specific building block, or inside the [masthead] block (which is the logo block), but you can change this as you need; in Configurator, go to the Building blocks tab, and then Topnav. The very first option is "Topnav position" and this is where you set where the menu will display.
Below is a list of the different menu types you can use in the top navigation block.
Default menu
This is the default state of the top menu and will be styled as a standard horizontal flat list menu with no sub items. The default state requires no module suffixes or other configuration.
Topfish menu
This is a five level deep css drop down menu that is enhanced with javascript and comes with a number of customization options which can be set from within Configurator.
Topdrop menu
Topdrop is a combination of the Superfish and Dropline style menus, where the first level of child items are displayed horizontally under the first level and further items dropping down like the topfish menu.
Split menu
The split menu allows you to use both top and side menu in combination with one another and is a useful way to display many levels of menu items without overpowering the person browsing your site.
Sidebar menu options:
The sidebar menu's will work in either of the sidebars and give you a range of different options to display your Joomla menus.
Default sidebar menu
This is the default state of the sidebar menu and will be styled as a traditional vertical menu. The default vertical menu requires no module suffixes. Any sub menu items will be displayed as a nested list with this option.
Sidefish menu
The Sidefish is a css based vertical fly out menu that is enhanced with javascript. It can handle up to five levels deep and will automatically adjust the sub items fly-out based on which sidebar the menu is published too.
Subtext in menu items
The subtext option allows you to add an additional line of text underneath the main menu item to provide more meaning. This can be used on both the top and sidebar menus on any level.
I would change this text "The top menu by default is assigned to the "user3" module position. Below is a list of the different menu types you can use in the top navigation block." To.. "The top menu must be assigned to the "user3" module position. Once it is assigned to user3, you can then control exactly where the menu shows within Configurator.
